early morning sunlight

for illustration friday.

spring is coming slowly to new york city this year. while the weekend was warm, the temperature has dropped again this week and most people are back in their winter gear.

this painting is based on a photo i took on one of my morning walks along the upper west side. i think it's so cute how even if it's quite cold outside, when the sun comes out, you'll see toddlers bundled up and strolling along with their parents, on the way to pick up groceries or just to get a cup of coffee and some fresh air with mom or dad.

as much as i like the brisk cool air of early spring mornings, i can't wait for the weather to warm up again!

Ah, spring in NY! Precisely why I left and moved further south! Though, I have to admit I miss the snow! This is a really nice illustration. I love everything about it!

This is when my 3 year old daughter says, "Shadow, Mommy, shadow!!" Joyous experience you've captured here.
