book arts

last night, i took my first bookmaking class at the center for book arts. we made 3 simple books -- first we learned to rebind a paperback so that it was a "perfect bind", then we made two other sewn books (no glue used). i am absolutely giddy with excitement over getting a chance to learn bookmaking. i've never heard anyone say that it's a hobby or interest of theirs, but i can definitely say that it's now near the top of my list! its the perfect way for me to channel my crafty energies, since i get to arrange, rerrange and combine all sorts of papers and cards, and create such lovely things.
